Meet the Founder

My name is Piyumi Buddhakorala and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of New York and Certified as a Seminar Training in Field Instruction (SIFI). I graduated from Columbia School of Social Work and have over ten years of experience working with individuals with trauma, substance use, employment concerns, depression, anxiety, psychotic, bipolar and borderline symptoms.

In addition to my providing therapy, I have extensive experience working with the justice involved individuals; advocating for their release into mandated programs; connecting them to necessary services in the community. I also oversee the quality improvement aspect of justice involved programs; ensuring that trauma-informed, culturally competent and anti-racist services are being rendered.
